The 2024 Energy Code is going to be implemented on November 14, 2024. In 2023, the State Building Code was amended to require the adoption of the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code within three (3) months of its release. The IECC final draft was published and made available on August 14, 2024, and as such, it goes into effect statewide no later than November 14, 2024. To make the transition to the 2024 code successful, it is imperative that both builders and building inspectors alike educate themselves.

A special class has been developed by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in partnership with the Rhode Island Builders Association (RIBA).
